About this Role:
The Building Cleaning & Maintenance Supervisor
is responsible for overseeing and coordinating high-rise and elevated building cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities. This role involves managing teams working at heights, ensuring adherence to safety standards, scheduling tasks, and inspecting completed work for quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate teams performing exterior and interior building cleaning and maintenance.
- Oversee operations involving rope access, scaffolding, or elevated work platforms (EWPs).
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments before commencing high-access work.
- Ensure all team members comply with Working at Heights regulations and safety protocols.
- Train staff in proper cleaning techniques and the safe use of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, safety checks, and incident reports.
- Liaise with property managers, clients, and contractors to coordinate work plans and minimise disruptions.
- Order and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, safety gear, and maintenance tools.
- Investigate and resolve complaints or issues related to cleaning or maintenance work
Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years in building maintenance/cleaning, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
- Able to interpret work orders, technical manuals, and safety data sheets.
- Good physical condition; able to climb, lift, and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Working at Heights Certification(mandatory and current).
- Experience with rope access (IRATA) scaffold systems, or elevated platforms (Boom Lift, Scissor Lift).
- First Aid.
- Valid driver’s license
- Outdoor work on high-rise buildings or structures.
- Exposure to weather, heights, and potentially hazardous materials.
- A flexible schedule may be required (early mornings, weekends, or emergency call-outs)
