We are partnering with our client to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a complex $60M+ programme spanning civil, underground, and vertical construction workstreams. This is a key leadership position suited to a proven delivery specialist capable of operating effectively at both strategic and execution levels.
About the Role
You will provide end‑to‑end leadership of a major programme as the single point of accountability, ensuring strategic oversight, commercial alignment, and robust programme governance. The role requires strong engagement with clients, consultants, principal contractors, and senior stakeholders. A significant focus is also placed on building internal capability; mentoring Construction Managers, Project Managers, and senior staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for programme delivery.
- Oversee programme integration, risk management, and commercial performance.
- Lead strategic decision‑making across multiple complex workstreams.
- Manage senior stakeholder relationships and communication.
- Drive team capability, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Oversee forecasting, contract administration, variations, and claims.
You bring strong commercial acumen, technical capability, and a leadership style that thrives in complexity and remains steady under pressure.
You will have:
- Extensive experience delivering large‑scale construction projects.
- Strong commercial and contract management expertise.
- QS and/or project controls experience (advantageous).
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence senior project teams.
- Excellent communication and senior stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong strategic planning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capability.
- A full NZ driver licence.
