Key Responsibilities
- Assist with erecting and dismantling scaffolding under supervision, including tube & clip, ringlock, and mobile scaffolds.
- Handle, carry, and stage scaffold components such as standards, ledgers, braces, planks, base plates, and fittings.
- Use hand tools confidently, including spanners, levels, hammers, and impact tools.
- Load and unload trucks, organise gear on site, and maintain tidy material laydown areas.
- Follow instructions from ticketed scaffolders, ensuring all work meets site safety and quality requirements.
- Install basic bracing, ties, and platforms as directed.
- Support scaffold modifications, lifts, and additions during active projects.
- Perform general labouring duties such as site clean‑up, debris removal, and assisting other trades when required.
- Maintain safe work practices, including correct PPE use, hazard identification, and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Previous scaffolding labouring or construction labouring experience.
- Confident using spanners, hand tools, and basic power tools.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials repeatedly throughout the day.
- Good understanding of site safety, including working around heights, plant, and moving loads.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Preferred (Not Essential)
- Experience assisting scaffolders on commercial, civil, or residential projects.
- Working at Heights or Site Safe card (can be obtained on the job).
- Full or restricted driver licence.
- Forklift, HIAB, or Class 2 licence is an advantage.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
- Capable of repetitive lifting (20–30kg components).
- Able to climb, balance, and work around elevated structures under supervision.
