Quantity Surveyor -Civil

The Role
As an Intermediate Estimator / QS, you’ll be instrumental in delivering accurate cost estimates and managing budgets across all project stages—from early concept through to completion. You’ll work closely with our project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure financial clarity and project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for tenders and projects
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare pricing and quantities
• Procure and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist with tender submissions and pricing strategy
• Monitor project budgets and cost variations
• Provide regular cost reporting and forecasts to internal teams
• Support senior QS staff with post-contract duties as required

• 3–5 years’ experience in an estimating or QS role, ideally in the NZ construction industry
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
• Strong knowledge of NZ building codes and contract law NZS 3910 experience a plus
• Proficiency with estimating software  CostX,
• Excellent numerical and analytic skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented
