We’re on the lookout for an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join a well-established team based in Parnell. This is a full-time, permanent role leading the delivery of large-scale commercial painting and fit-out projects across Auckland.

If you’ve got a solid background in construction or commercial fit-outs, strong QS knowledge, and you enjoy keeping multiple complex projects on track without breaking a sweat – this could be the role for you.

You’ll be based out of the Parnell office but spend about 25% of your time on site, managing 5–6 major projects at a time. The ideal person will be confident, self-motivated, and have a genuine knack for spotting smarter, more efficient ways of doing things. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing multiple commercial painting and fit-out projects from tender through to handover
  • Coordinating with clients, site managers, engineers, QSs, and subcontractors
  • Supporting and working closely with a team of in-house QSs
  • Keeping your projects running smoothly – pricing, tracking costs, managing variations, and hitting key deadlines
  • Running site meetings and preparing detailed project reports
  • Monitoring budgets and margins, ensuring projects remain profitable
  • Ensuring all QA documentation is completed and meets contract requirements
  • Keeping everyone on the same page – from the crew on site to the client
  • Thinking creatively and outside the box to improve processes and workflows
  • Solving problems as they come up, managing delays or scope changes
  • Making sure health & safety is always front of mind
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Project Manager in commercial painting, construction, or fit-outs
  • Strong QS knowledge – can read drawings, estimate costs, measure quantities, and manage budgets
  • Comfortable working with detailed documentation and scopes – accuracy is key here
  • Technical understanding of painting systems (acrylics, epoxy, intumescent coatings, etc.) is a big plus
  • Excellent communicator – clear, honest, and professional with clients and internal teams
  • Super organised – you know your projects inside and out and stay across every detail
  • Great with tech – confident using MS Office and project management tools
  • Resilient and open to learning – someone who takes feedback well and grows from it
  • NZ driver’s licence – must be comfortable travelling to different sites around Auckland
