Practice Administrator
Our client is a well-established Chartered Accountancy firm based in Christchurch, seeking an experienced and capable Administrator for a six‑month fixed‑term, part‑time role (30 hours per week). This is a key support role that sits at the heart of the practice, offering variety, responsibility, and long‑term stability.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys being client‑facing, thrives in a professional services environment, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.

The role

You will provide administration, accounts, and compliance support across the practice. You’ll be the first point of contact for many clients and play a vital role in ensuring day‑to‑day workflows are efficient and professional

Key responsibilities:
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, including phone and front‑of‑house support
  • Managing payroll, client disbursements, and electronic delivery of financial statements and tax returns
  • Supporting client onboarding and offboarding, company incorporations, and Companies Office filings
  • Providing PA‑style administrative support to a senior leader, including inbox management
  • Assisting with system, process, and procedure improvements
  • Providing general administration and business services support within a public practice accounting firm 
About you
  • Proven administration experience within accounting, finance, or professional services
  • Strong Xero capability
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ownership mindset
  • Confident in managing payroll for a small client base
