They have several positions due to increased production requirements and are looking for candidates with proven foundry experience.
The job:
- Operate furnaces to melt and pour metals
- Remove sand moulds and refine castings using water blasters and metal grinders
- Repair and finish products, deburring surface imperfections
- Operate lifting equipment such as gantry cranes to hand heavy castings
- Follow strict health and safety guidelines
- Previous experience within a metal casting and foundry environment
- Proficiency with core making, floor moulding, metal pouring, fettling and knock-out operations.
- Experience using measurement tools, bandsaws and powered foundry machinery
- Able to handle exposure to extreme temperatures (700°C - 1600°C) wearing full body protective equipment
- Excellent communication to follow technical verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Permanent employment in line with NZ employment law, with a competitive remuneration package to match your experience ($32 - $40 per hour)
- 30 hour work week guaranteed, Monday to Friday
