As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll lead the conceptual development and technical scoping of engineering projects. You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality design outputs, bills of materials, and detailed documentation — translating project requirements into manufacturable solutions.
- Detailed 3D modelling and 2D drawings using Inventor and/or SolidWorks, ensuring designs are production-ready.
- Preparing accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and supporting quoting and procurement activities.
- Engineering calculations, simulations, and hands-on prototyping to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
- Providing technical input during manufacturing and helping resolve any design-related issues that arise.
- Collaborating across different areas of the business, ensuring smooth delivery and meeting deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical design
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
- A strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes is essential
- Experience with BOM creation and ERP systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- NZ Resident or Citizen (essential)
