We’re working with a well-established and highly regarded business within the food processing sector, currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Canterbury.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
About the Role
Working as part of a close-knit maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing reliability and performance of plant and equipment, ensuring production continues to run smoothly.
Key responsibilities:
- Preventative and reactive maintenance across plant and equipment
- Fault-finding and diagnostics on mechanical systems
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Assisting with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of machinery
- Welding stainless steel to food processing standards
- Working collaboratively with production and maintenance teams
- Provide budget estimates for projects when requested
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A trade qualification (or working towards) in fitting/turning or mechanical engineering
- Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and reliability-based maintenance
