The construction labourer will support skilled tradespeople in erecting a steel-framed insulated structure. This role involves assisting with steel assembly, insulation installation, and general site duties to ensure the project is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Preparation
  • Clear and level ground for steel framing foundations
  • Assist with layout marking and positioning of structural elements
  • Dig trenches or prepare footings for steel posts
  • Steel Frame Construction
  • Carry, position, and secure steel beams, columns, and trusses
  • Assist with bolting, welding, or fastening steel components under supervision
  • Operate basic tools (drills, grinders, impact wrenches) safely
  • Insulation & Cladding
  • Handle and install insulated panels (EPS, PIR, or similar)
  • Fit wall and roof cladding materials (metal sheets, insulated panels)
  • Seal joints and ensure proper thermal and moisture protection
  • General Labour
  • Load, unload, and move construction materials
  • Maintain a clean and organised worksite
  • Support carpenters, welders, and other trades as required
  • Assist in the safe handling of heavy steel and insulated panels
Skills & Qualifications
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour
  • Basic knowledge of steel construction and insulation materials
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely
  • Teamwork and communication skills
Work Environment
  • Outdoor and indoor construction sites
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Collaboration with builders, welders, and site supervisors
