With a strong pipeline of commercial and infrastructure projects, we’re looking for a motivated Junior - Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support our growing team and develop into a key contributor.
The Role As a Junior - Estimator / QS, you’ll assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting budget management across all stages of construction projects, from early concept through to completion. You’ll work closely with Owner / Operator, project manager, skilled site staff and subcontractors to gain hands-on experience and build your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for tenders and live projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and documents to support pricing and quantity take-offs
- Help source and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
- Contribute to tender submissions and pricing strategies
- Track project costs and variations under guidance
- Support cost reporting and forecasting for internal teams
- Assist senior QS staff with post-contract administration
- 0–2 years’ experience in estimating or quantity surveying (internships welcome)
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards)
- Basic understanding of NZ building codes and contract law (NZS 3910 exposure a bonus)
- Familiarity with estimating software such as CostX or Excel
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
