Location: Wellington

Worktype: Full Time

If you love working with your hands, are great with tools, and have a strong mechanical mind – this one’s for you. Whether you're a seasoned tradie, an ex-mechanic, or someone stepping into a flexible semi-retirement phase, this could be your next adventure!

We’re on the hunt for a reliable, practical person to join a passionate team that installs and maintains residential elevator and access solutions across New Zealand. No, you don’t need to be an elevator technician already – just someone with great mechanical aptitude, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to learn.

The Role:

You’ll be hands-on installing and maintaining domestic homelifts and stairlifts that genuinely improve people’s lives. You’ll need to be experienced in working with tools, solving problems, and being on the move - and have strong communication skills to work confidently with clients and team members alike.

Travel is part of the deal - expect to be working out of the region regularly, every other week, but only Monday to Friday - no weekends - with all expenses covered and comfy accommodation sorted.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Installing, assembling and servicing access equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues (and some low-voltage electrical stuff – nothing too wild)
  • Reading basic technical drawings (don’t worry, you’ll be trained)
  • Working with clients and contractors – explaining how things work
  • Making things safe, reliable and spot-on

What You’ll Need:

  • Confidence with tools and mechanical thinking
  • Common sense and a solutions-first attitude
  • A full NZ driver’s license
  • Clean police record
  • Be calm under pressure – maturity and reliability count for a lot
  • Open to travel and physically active work

What You’ll Get:

  • $ pay is negotiable & based on experience
  • Paid travel, tax-free allowances & comfortable stays
  • All gear provided – tools, uniform, equipment
  • Great culture, real team spirit, and opportunities to grow

Hours:

  • Standard: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
  • Flexibility between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM for project needs
  • The above is flexible for the right person

This is a perfect role for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thinking on their feet, and doesn’t mind getting out and about.
