Our client is looking for an experienced Working Foreman to lead crews delivering essential 3 Waters and civil infrastructure projects across Canterbury. This role suits someone who enjoys leading from the front, combining hands‑on site work with day‑to‑day crew coordination.
About the role:
You’ll be responsible for supervising a small crew on water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role includes overseeing materials, plant, and labour, interpreting plans, maintaining productivity on site, and working closely with engineers and project managers. Experience in 3 Waters drainage will be a strong advantage.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervising, mentoring, and supporting a crew of 3–6 staff
- Reading and interpreting plans
- Coordinating materials, plant, and labour
- Liaising with engineers, PMs, and site stakeholders
- Driving productivity, quality control, and Health & Safety
- Contributing to crew development and positive team culture
- Proven experience in 3 Waters, civil, or drainage work
- Strong leadership skills and a hands‑on approach
- Ability to read plans and manage onsite workflow
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Practical problem‑solver with good communication skills
- Reliable, steady, and confident leading a team
