Welder / Fabricator – Hands-On, Varied Role

We’re looking for a practical, qualified Welder/Fabricator who thrives in a busy, hands-on role. This position is all about keeping vital equipment and infrastructure in top condition — the kind of work that makes a real difference to daily operations.
About the role
This is a physically active and varied role where no two days look the same. You’ll be:
- Working with mild steel, galvanised steel, and occasionally stainless/aluminium
- Carrying out MIG and Stick welding as your main methods
- Repairing, fabricating, and maintaining everything from yard infrastructure to heavy machinery
- Problem-solving on the go and helping keep our site safe, efficient, and running smoothly
- Weld and fabricate steel and aluminium parts and structures
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on a wide range of machinery
- Keep the workshop and tools organised and ready for use
- Support site operations with set-ups and maintenance tasks
- Promote health and safety standards on site
- Share your knowledge with others when needed
- Solid background in welding/fabrication (ideally 3+ years)
- A relevant qualification or welding ticket (preferred)
- Confident with MIG and Stick welding
- Mechanically minded, practical, and physically fit
- A full NZ driver’s licence
