Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for the trades? Our client, a well-established name in the plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying industry, is looking for a Service Estimator to join their busy team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of customer service and technical problem-solving — helping customers get the right solution at the right price, while keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

About the Role
As the Service Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for domestic, maintenance, and light commercial plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying work. You'll work closely with customers and operational teams to understand project requirements, develop cost-effective solutions, and identify opportunities to maximise sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate, timely quotes for residential and light commercial plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying work
  • Assess customer enquiries and scope the work required, sourcing material and labour pricing as needed
  • Follow up on quotes to support conversion into confirmed work
  • Deliver responsive, professional communication throughout the quoting process
  • Work closely with technicians and managers to gather accurate pricing information, and support the wider team during busy periods
What You'll Bring Essential
  • Plumbing, Gasfitting and/or Drainlaying qualification, or relevant industry experience
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn estimating and pricing processes
  • Full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence
Desirable
  • Previous experience in plumbing or construction administration
  • Experience using estimating or job management software
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of plumbing materials and industry terminology
