We are looking for a qualified Electrician who enjoys varied, hands-on technical work in the dairy industry. This is a field-based role providing specialist electrical and maintenance support to dairy farms across the Rangiora and North Canterbury region.
If you like solving problems on-site, working with both electrical and mechanical systems, and delivering great service to farmers, this is an excellent opportunity.
What You’ll Do
- Install, service, and repair milking machines and dairy equipment
- Carry out electrical fault-finding, repairs, and installations on farms
- Perform servicing, testing, and compliance checks on dairy systems
- Undertake mechanical repairs, including pumps, motors, and basic fabrication/welding
- Provide on-farm troubleshooting and technical support to customers
- Mentor and support a junior Electrical Technician working towards registration
Essential
- Full EWRB Electrical Licence
- Strong practical electrical and fault-finding skills
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude (pumps, motors, dairy equipment)
- Reliable, customer-focused, with a positive attitude
- Full NZ work rights and ability to work locally in Rangiora/North Canterbury
- Previous experience with dairy milking equipment or farm machinery
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Permanent full-time role based in Rangiora
- Competitive hourly rate of $40 – $45 per hour (depending on experience)
- Regular hours (7:30 am – 4:00 pm) with some flexibility during peak season
- On-call roster (approximately every 10–12 weeks)
