About the Role
This is a newly created Commercial Manager position, designed to support the delivery of major infrastructure developments in Southland. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the financial and contractual performance of large-scale construction and service projects.
This is a strategic opportunity for a commercially minded professional to help shape the future of a growing business while contributing to high-impact regional developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management across major projects, ensuring financial and contractual integrity.
- Manage budgets, cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Provide strategic commercial insights to support business decisions.
- Champion the company’s reputation and values in all stakeholder interactions.
- Drive business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth and supporting the expansion of services across Southland and beyond
- Proven experience in commercial management, ideally on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of financial, contractual, and commercial project aspects.
- Background in construction or related sectors, with knowledge of materials, processes, and industry best practices.
- Experience in project management or quantity surveying (5+ years), with a desire to step into a dedicated commercial management role.
- Familiarity with NZ construction legislation, codes, and standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic mindset with strong attention to detail and execution.
