Automotive Parts Advisor | Queenstown

Enjoy customer service, have an interest in vehicles, and thrive in a busy environment?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a longstanding automotive business in Queenstown, representing a strong range of well-known vehicle brands. They’re looking for a motivated Parts Advisor to join their busy and high performing team. This is a varied role where you’ll be the link between customers, technicians, suppliers and the wider dealership. You’ll help customers find the right parts, manage orders and stock, and make sure the workshop has what it needs to keep things moving. For someone with an interest in vehicles who enjoys solving problems and dealing with people, it’s a great opportunity to build a career with an established name in the automotive industry.

About the Role

As a Parts Advisor, you’ll support both internal and external customers, providing accurate parts advice and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the parts department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with parts enquiries in person and over the phone
  • Identifying and sourcing the correct parts and associated products
  • Processing orders and accurately recording customer, vehicle and parts information
  • Receiving, checking and storing incoming stock
  • Picking and supplying parts to customers and the workshop
  • Ordering parts that aren’t currently available and keeping customers updated
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and assisting with stocktakes
  • Working closely with the service and workshop teams
  • Identifying sales opportunities while maintaining a high standard of customer service

What We’re Looking For

You don’t necessarily need to come from a dealership background, but you will need to be organised, comfortable dealing with customers and able to keep on top of multiple priorities.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in automotive parts, warehousing, a trade counter, retail or customer service environment
  • A genuine interest in vehicles, machinery or trades
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Good communication skills, both in person and over the phone
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good computer skills and the ability to pick up inventory and parts systems
  • The ability to prioritise and work effectively when things get busy
  • A practical, team-focused attitude
  • A current full New Zealand driver licence

Previous automotive parts experience or a relevant automotive qualification would be an advantage, but isn’t essential. A forklift licence would also be useful but is not a requirement.

What’s on Offer

  • Permanent, full-time position in Queenstown
  • Longstanding and well-established automotive business
  • Work with a strong range of recognised vehicle brands
  • Ongoing product and industry training
  • Supportive, experienced team environment
  • Opportunity to develop your automotive parts knowledge
  • Career development opportunities
  • Competitive remuneration package

This could suit an experienced Parts Advisor looking for their next move, but we’re equally interested in hearing from someone with a trade, automotive, warehousing or customer service background who has the right attitude and wants to build their career in the industry.

Applicants must have current and ongoing rights to work in New Zealand. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
