Location: Wellington

Worktype: Full Time

Keen to step up, lead a crew and still stay hands-on?
We’re working with a well-established, globally recognised manufacturing business that’s been doing great things for years — designing, building, and delivering complex industrial products here in NZ and overseas.

They’ve got a big, busy production environment and a solid reputation. Now they’re looking for an  Assembly Lead  to take charge of a key area on the floor.

The Role

You’ll be leading a team of around 15 in the assembly space — keeping things running smoothly, hitting targets, and making sure quality stays high. This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be right there with the team —  problem-solving, guiding, and getting stuck in when needed

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading, guiding and supporting the team day-to-day
  • Keeping production on track —  safety, quality, output
  • Getting hands-on with assembly when needed
  • Reading and working from drawings and building instructions
  • Helping install and position components (mechanical + electrical)
  • Troubleshooting issues and keeping things moving
  • Working closely with the Production Manager
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a  manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Solid  mechanical or electrical background  (both = a big plus)
  • Previous experience  leading or supervising a team is essential
  • Comfortable reading  drawings and building plans
  • Someone who’s  practical, proactive, and good with people
  • Happy to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front
  • NZ based with full work rights
The Good Stuff
  • Strong, stable business with a great reputation
  • Proper mix of  leadership + hands-on work
  • Interesting, varied production environment
  • Chance to really  make your mark with the team
