We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Plant Operator for a contract position in Napier. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the asphalt plant to ensure the production of high-quality asphalt materials. The role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor plant equipment to produce asphalt in accordance with specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with the production team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
- Load trucks and manage inventory of raw materials and finished products.
- Perform quality control tests on asphalt mixtures.
- Proven experience as an Asphalt Plant Operator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt plant operations and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
- Proficient in basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Valid class 4 licence RTW and reliable transport.
- Duration: Ongoing.
- Hours: 0700-1700.
- Must pass drug test, clean licence, MOJ checks.
- Compensation: Pay is dependent on experience.
