Redundancy Recuperation

Enterprise is dedicated to a candidate’s overall recruitment concerns and their response is equally committed when redundancy becomes an issue.

A difficult time for any candidate, facing redundancy requires responsive and helpful solutions from someone who is up to the task. Our Candidate Manager Claire Lowe has experience in coping with any situation. Each one unique to the prospective candidate.

Here’s an example. Claire recently helped with the fallout from the receivership of Pumpkin Patch, as approximately 1600 jobs were lost across Australasia.

Claire was approached by several candidates before Christmas to see if she could assist them with finding new positions. As it happened their skills matched the requirement of a key Enterprise client. These senior candidates, although facing redundancy close to the Christmas period, felt strong loyalties to their employer, as many of their colleagues were long term workers and close friends. There was a strong commitment among them to ensure a smooth transition toward receivership which would require flexibility and understanding from future employers.

This presented a challenge requiring strong and considerate negotiation to overcome. However, the great relationships Enterprise has with their client partners enabled Claire to negotiate very flexible working arrangements and conditions for the candidates. Claire’s honest approach with these requirements made the new employers very understanding and they were happy to cooperate.

So far Enterprise has placed placed two employees (ex Pumpkin Patch) into new jobs and has at least 5 candidates currently in the interviewing process with other companies. Claire not only works to the brief, placing her candidates skillfully, but her honesty and optimism when there may be doubt, creates a rapport that can give a candidate a much needed boost, even when the outlook is not particularly rosy.

Enterprise’s core values of partnership and trust create a feeling of security for both candidates and clients and redundancy issues are testing times for both. Legally NZ employers must help find new positions for existing staff and Enterprise will often advise them on how to manage redundancies, assisting HR staff with positive input and dedicated expert resource.

Enterprise offers coaching for interviews, assistance with CV writing and advice on financial matters and salary expectations. We’re committed to being responsive to any subject to be discussed within a recruitment situation on any level.

We’re in business to Improve Life – our clients, candidates, and our own. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Claire or any other member of the Enterprise team.
